Oakland Port Strike Shuts Seaport, Draws Solidarity

The Port of Oakland and Service Employees International Union Local 1021 are going back to the table, in a contract negotiation brokered by Oakland Mayor Jean Quan. The labor dispute led to the pickets at Oakland International Airport and a strike that shut down the Oakland sea port. The dispute has attracted labor activists from around the state, along with other community organizations showing solidarity for the union action. Christopher Martinez files this report from Oakland.
