Los Angeles Repeals Pot Shop Ban, Advocates Fear More Federal Enforcement

With an eleven-to-one vote, the Los Angeles City Council has officially overturned its medical cannabis dispensary ban. The vote was an expected formality after the council decided last week to overturn the ban rather than put the question to voters in an initiative begun by medical marijuana advocates that turned in over 50,000 signatures. The advocates celebrated the vote today. And, they urged the city to work quickly to pass an ordinance to regulate the nearly one-hundred fifty medical cannabis shops that have been playing by city's rules for years. Pacifica's Dan Fritz reports from Los Angeles.
