Federal authorities Tuesday teamed up with local law enforcement in Los Angeles and took action against over seventy medical cannabis dispensaries in the city. Authorities executed search warrants and raided three dispensaries. Federal prosecutors filed court papers to seize the property of three others. And the U.S. Attorney's Office mailed letters out to nearly seventy medical cannabis dispensaries, giving them fourteen days to shutdown before they would face civil and criminal penalties. Medical marijuana advocates blame Los Angeles city leaders for failing to regulate the dispensaries under California law. Pacifica's Dan Fritz reports from Los Angeles.
