Leaders of California's community colleges say enrollment has dropped by nearly half a million students statewide from the peak four years ago -- a 17% reduction. They blamed state budget cuts, which have forced a reduction in the number of classes offered and overcrowding in those that remain. An estimated half million students who tried to enroll for classes at the state's 112 community colleges this fall wound up on waiting lists. Alex Kekauoha filed this report from Berkeley.
