Chronic Mega-Droughts Could Be the "New Normal"

The current drought that’s scorching crops and buckling roads in the mid-west states could be a taste of the future. That’s according to a new climate change study that warns of a 21st century “mega-drought.” The researchers say current climate models underestimate the severity of droughts. Their study is based on a chronic drought that hit Western North America in the first half of this decade. Christopher Martinez reports.
