Animal rights activists held a midday rally today before the opening of a weeklong engagement of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey traveling circus.
Groups such as PETA say the current tour features elephants that are routinely abused and coerced to perform while traveling long hours in cramped quarters.
