A fire in West Oakland halted all transbay BART service for about 12 hours this morning. Morning commuters had to find alternative transportation. The fire occurred at about 2:15 a.m. at the construction site of a five story senior citizen housing complex located adjacent to the West Oakland BART tracks. BART directors were briefly at a previously scheduled meeting today. Alex Kakauoha reports from Oakland.
