Prison Reform Activists Rally Against Solitary Confinement Units

When California prison officials recently unveiled a new ten year program to reduce the numbers of prisoners, they did not address the system's solitary confinement units. Advocates for prisoners rallied in Sacramento today outside an emergency meeting between Corrections Department officials, mediators for the prisoners and legislative aides. Elise Guillot reports.
