Methyl Iodide Manufacturer Halts Production Of Toxic Pesticide

The Japanese manufacturer of the toxic soil fumigant methyl iodide announced it is stopping production of the pesticide for the U.S. market. California pesticide officials had approved methyl iodide in the last days of the Schwarzenegger administration. Environmental groups had been asking Governor Jerry Brown to reverse that decision.
