L.A. Wants To Renegotiate Labor Contracts

The city of Los Angeles may withhold pay raises to roughly 20,000 city employees due raises on July first. LA's chief administrative officer sent letters yesterday to members of the Coalition of City Unions, asking them to re-open contract negotiations because the city can't afford the raises or to end furlough days because of a budget shortfall.
