L.A. Police Commission Votes To Relax Vehicle Impound Policy

The Los Angeles Police Commission has voted to suspend a mandatory 30-day impound for unlicensed drivers when they're caught for the first time. In a 4-to-1 vote, the Police Commission sided with Police Chief Charlie Beck and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, in an attempt to soften laws that have had a disproportionate impact on the immigrant community.
