Occupy L.A. Joins Call For Responsible Banking Ordinance

Los Angeles City Council member Richard Alarcon wants
Los Angeles to conduct business solely with banks that are accountable
to the community. He authored the Responsible Banking Ordinance which would mandate the city to use banks that reinvest in the city. Interfaith leaders, organized labor and activists gathered at City Hall for a Bank Divestment rally before the City Council’s Budget and Finance Committee. Ernesto Arce files this report from Los Angeles.
