San Francisco Set To Expand Plastic Bag Ban

San Francisco Supervisors may vote in early December on expanding the existing ban on plastic bags. A proposal by Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi would extend the current ban which applies to supermarkets and chain store pharmacies to include other retail establishments and take out restaurants. Customers would be charged for compostable plastic or paper bags with the fee rising to 25 cents in 2014. Brian Edwards Tiekert has more.
