UC President Says Low Income Students Can Afford UC Education

UC President Mark Yudoff and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa
spoke to hundreds of students at Roosevelt High School in East LA
yesterday. The pair were joined by local educators who urged students at the
predominantly Latino campus to strive for academic excellence.
President Yudoff challenged what he said is a myth that a UC education is
inaccessible by touting the success of financial aid programs for
students from low-income families. Ernesto Arce files this report from Los Angeles.
