California Set To Release Thousands Of Female Inmates

More than 4,000 female inmates in California prisons could qualify for early release as soon as next week. Under a new state law, less serious offenders who have dependent children could serve the rest of their sentences at home. It’s called the “alternative custody program. Victim rights groups say the mothers are criminals who aren’t fit to be reunited with their children. Ernesto Arce has more from Los Angeles.
