Mexican Author Charges U.S. Officials Complicit in Drug Trade

Famed Mexican author Anabel Hernandez is in Los Angeles this week as part of a nation-wide tour to promote her latest work, the Drug Men. In it, Hernandez makes the case that top-ranking officials in both the U.S. and Mexico are complicit in the multi-billion dollar illicit drug trade. She says the recent release of Wikileaks cables from the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City further bolster her arguments. She argues that the most sought after drug traffickers operate with the support of bankers, and business and public officials. Pacifica’s Ernesto Arce files this report from Los Angeles.
