Delta Farmers Protest Water Exports

The Jerry Brown administration has backed away from a proposal to build two huge tunnels to divert Sacramento River water around the delta. Jerry Meral, the Deputy Director of Natural Resources told an Assembly Committee this week that the tunnel is no longer considered the leading option. He said the Bay Delta Conservation Plan will consider other ways to balance the delta ecosystem and suppliees of water to farms in the Central Valley and Southern California cities. In the second of a three part series on the delta, Vic Bedoian reports on the concerns of farmers and fishermen in Northern California.
