Dozens of student activists rallied at Republican State Senator Bob Huff’s Los Angeles County office this morning. Students from Mount San Antonio Community College in Walnut asked Huff to block a fee increase and to support Dream Act students. An aide for the chair of the California Republican Caucus met with the students for over an hour where they discussed California’s budget woes, the prison industrial complex and even the merits and faults of capitalism. Pacifica’s Ernesto Arce was invited to the private meeting. He files this report from Los Angeles.
