The Contra Costa Board of Supervisors held its first “TRUTH Act Forum” to hear about local cooperation with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. It comes as immigrant rights activists are celebrating the end of a sheriff’s contract to hold immigrant detainees for ICE. But activists are concerned about sheriff’s cooperation such as letting ICE know when undocumented immigrants are released from jail.
