Supporters of a single payer healthcare bill made their case at an Assembly hearing Wednesday. The bill, SB 562, has passed out of the Senate, but was blocked from action in the Assembly by democratic senate speaker Anthony Rendon. Single payor proponents spoke at a panel at the committee’s informational hearing, where they urged lawmakers to take steps to move California to a “Medicare for All” style single payer health system.
