Black Brunch Protest Stops "Business as Usual" in Berkeley

Protesters targeted businesses on Fourth Street in Berkeley today for a series of direct actions, aimed at drawing attention to police violence against African Americans. Participants labeled the event "Black Brunch," which since December has seen groups of African American activists visit predominantly white establishments in Berkeley and Oakland during weekend brunch hours to recite the names of African Americans killed by police officers. The actions have all been peaceful, but at one establishment, a manager called the police on the group. KPFA's Andrew Klein files this report. (Photo credit: Blake Simons/twitter.com)
