L.A. Councilmember Wants Change in Immigration Fingerprint Program

Former Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard Parks, who now serves on the L.A. City Council, has co-authored a resolution calling for the city to start limiting its participation in the controversial federal Secure Communities program. The program calls for local law enforcement to send the fingerprints of those arrested to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Although ICE officials say the program was created to target dangerous convicted criminals, thousands of non-criminal detainees have also been deported. Pacifica's Dan Fritz reports from Los Angeles.
