Tax Day Protest Targets L.A. Chase Bank Office

There was a flurry of political activity across the country for tax day. The Republican and Tea Parties organized protests to call for smaller government and an end to excessive taxes. Democrats and progressive groups denounced GOP plans to cut back on social services while maintaining tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy. In Southern California, LGBT advocates are rallying outside LAX [Los Angeles International Airport]to protest tax laws that do not protect same-sex couples. In Hollywood, a broad coalition calling for an end to corporate tax loopholes gathered outside of the Chase bank offices on Sunset Boulevard.
