CSU Fullerton Students Stage Budget Sit-In

A group of about 50 California State University students staged an overnight sit-in on the Fullerton campus. Students began the action last night after an unsuccessful attempt to get Cal State Fullerton President Milton Gordon to sign a pledge against budget cuts. Gordon’s offer to write his own version was rejected by the campus activists who were joined by students and staff from Cal State Los Angeles and Dominguez Hills. Governor Jerry Brown has proposed $500 million cuts to both the CSU and UC systems. Many students say they’re taking a stand to prevent fee hikes from getting much worse.
Pacifica’s Ernesto Arce has more on the story from Los Angeles.
