U.C. Regents Adopt New Admissions Policy

Regents of the University of California have approved changes to undergraduate admissions at all campuses. The new policy requires each school to consider the background, life experiences and academic opportunities of each applicant.
Some regents worried that it will make the admission process more subjective.
The change in admissions may be a pre-cursor to campuses admitting a higher number of out-of-state students in order to plug a billion dollar system-wide budget shortfall.
