Supporters and Opponents of Proposition 25 Take to the Airwaves

The first TV advertisement for an initiative on the November ballot has begun to air across the state. Proposition 25 would change the rules in the state legislature, allowing lawmakers to pass a budget with a simple majority, rather than the two-thirds required for passage now.

Supporters and opponents have already sparred in court over whether the measure would allow lawmakers to increase taxes with a simple majority, as well. Pacifica’s Dan Fritz files this report.
